Wednesday Night Mission Supper
This meal is prepared and served (5:45 p.m.)  by volunteers for the Men and Women of The Extension - a licensed residential recovery program serving homeless men and women of Cobb County who suffer from alcohol and other addictions.
Action Points:
  • Showing up and purchasing a dinner ($6 per person; $10 per couple) pays for a meal for one resident from The Extension
  • Sit at the table with our guests and share fellowship with them.
  • Volunteer to help serve food, clean up after dinner, or provide transportation.

Food Pantry
Provides two bags of food/groceries on the second and fourth Tuesdays each month from 9:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m.  No restrictions. Simply provide name and identification.
Action Points:
Donate food items
  • Pick-up donated items and deliver to the pantry
  • Help sort and stock items
  • Volunteer to distribute bags of food on Tuesdays
Feed My Lambs Preschool
This is a “free” pre-school for 3, 4, and 5 year olds (on schedule with the Cobb County School System) that seeks to break the cycle of poverty and violence one child at a time. This mission provides a breakfast and/lunch each school day along with times of learning as well as singing, worship and prayer. 

Action Points: 

  • Approved volunteers teachers
  • Provide classroom supplies
  • Donate toys and gifts during the Christmas season

Zeveron Charity Projects

Zeveron, in partnership with other charitable organizations, travels to struggling communities in Kenya to provide for orphans, the homeless, and the physically challenged. During each mission we provide bible studies, activities, and prayer in order to spread the word of God while delivering warm, nutritious meals to the homeless and to orphans. We distribute toys to the children and wheelchairs and walkers to the physically challenged.


Action Points:
  • Donate funds, food, or items for feeding the homeless in metro Atlanta
  • Volunteer to assist in feeding the homeless in metro Atlanta
  • Donate funds for Reverends Zephaniah and Veronica's annual mission to a Kenya community
  • Share with others the work of Zeveron Charity Projects to raise awareness and gain support

Cobb Street Ministries
Cobb Street Ministries offers long-term housing, life skills development, job and housing search services, and spiritual guidance to Cobb County citizens in need.
Many of our residents are women escaping abusive homes, or mothers and children with no means of support.

  • Join Maple Avenue every Thanksgiving as we provide dinner for all of the residents (typically 20-30) at CSM
  • Visit and spend time with the residents
  • Donate funds or host a fundraiser to help support the ministry
  • Volunteer to provide dinner for the residents
  • Teach a class (life skills, GED preparation, job preparedness, children's' activities
  • Help with ground maintenance, repairs, and improvements

Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child
This is a world-wide mission of Franklin Graham to send boxes of “love and hope” to children around the world.
Action Points:
  • Pick up and fill boxes (check our calendar for box availability (October) and collection day (November))
  • Encourage your colleagues and neighbors to participate

There are many other ministries and missions at Maple Avenue UMC, but God may have placed on your heart one we do not have. This may be the place where it grows in a community of believers who believe in sharing the healing love of Christ to others!
